1-Triacontanol is a fatty alcohol of the general formula C30H62O, also known as melissyl alcohol or myricyl alcohol. It is found in plant cuticle waxes and in beeswax. Triacontanol is a growth stimulant for many plants, most notably roses, in which it rapidly increases the number of basal breaks.
Triacontanol dosage introduction.
(1), triacontanol can Increase seeds and germination percentage rate, increase rooting
For rice, corn, soybeans, sorghum and other crops commonly used 0.5-1 mg / kg of liquid triacontanol soaking 12-24 hours before planting, soaking concentration of 0.1 mg / kg can enhance the germination potential, improve the germination rate, and promote rooting and enhance drought resistance significantly
(2), triacontanol can promote chlorophyll content, enhance photosynthesis, cultivating robust plants, Generally used in leafy vegetables, grass, sugar cane, tobacco, nursery stock and other seedling, with 0.5-1 mg / kg triacontanol liquid spraying the plant, can promote growth
(3), triacontanol can promote the absorption of minerals and plants assimilate transport, increase dry matter accumulation, improve crop quality, increase setting rate, increase production.
Fruit crops growing season is generally used in the instant fruit, cereal crops is generally used in the heading, legume crops is used in the flowering stage, concentration is 0.5-1 mg / kg
(4), triacontanol can promote rooting
Fruit trees or ornamental plants, cuttings, usually use 1-5 mg / kg triacontanol soaking 8-12 hours, can significantly promote rooting and improve the survival rate of cuttings。
How to Dissolve Triacontanol, How to make a Triacontanol Solution
This will give you a 1 gallon, ready to use solution of Triacontanol: 100 PPM
1. Weigh 0.42g TRIA 90% into a microwavable safe glass container.
2. Add 5ml polysorbate 20.
3. Add 15ml of distilled water or reverse osmosis water.
4. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir (Caution! Solution will boil and will be hot!)
5. Microwave for 30 sec and stir, TRIA should now be dissolved, If not, repeat step 5
6. Add the 20ml TRIA concentrate to 3765ml of distilled water or reverse osmosis water.
NOTE: If you take a gallon of water and remove 20ml, you have 3765ml.
How Many Ppms of Triacontanol Should I Feed My Plants?
Recommended PPM per feed, or plant species, can vary!
It is totally up to each gardener to figure out their plants happy spot, or to fine tune the exact amount of PPM per feed you’re going to supply the plants with so you can yield the maximum benefits of using triacontanol.
With that said, please use the below info as a guideline to help you find that sweet spot.
1. If you add triacontanol to your reservoir, foliar spray daily, or with every feed, use: .01 – 1.0PPM.
2. If you foliar feed, add to the reservoir, or drench feed, once every 2-4 weeks, 1-25 PPM is a standard range.
Don't worry too much about finding what the perfect amount of TRIA to feed your plant is. If you stay in the above ranges you CANNOT hurt the plants.
There are 2 rewards that can be gained by finding the exact amount of triacontanol that is needed.
You won't waste any triacontanol. Example: If .05 PPM of triacontanol is your plant sweets spot, you would be wasting triacontanol by feeding your plants 1.0 PPM
You maximize the benefits that triacontanol provides. Example: If you are underusing the product, you take the risk of not gaining the full benefits. (VERY RARE)
The chemical composition.
1- triacontanol,n- triacontanol
common alternative names: myricyl alcohol, melissyl alcohol, tria-contanol.
C30H62O Molecular Weight: 438.82 Melting point : 80-83oC 90% pure.
White powder, stable in light, air, alkali. For prolonged storage keep at 2-8 degC.
Low toxicity, safe to humans and animals. No phytotoxicity at standard application rates
Not soluble in water.
Dissolve in alcohol, n-butyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, ethyl ether, chloroform, petroleum, polysorbate20 (Tween20). The solution may need heating to improve solubility.
Store in a cool dry dark place. We supply in a leak proof container and we suggest Triacontanol is stored in the dark in a refrigerator at 2-8deg C. Foil cover the tube if necessary to eliminate light. We suggest using triacontanol solution soon after mixing and preferably use within a few days.
